DKR’s Cultural Musings — Don’t Look Up

Yes, like 99% of my friends, I watched Don’t Look Up. It’s more brilliant than I was expecting. Here are my (hopefully) spoiler-free takeaways:

- Meryl Streep is the only person who can convincingly interpret the answer to the question “What if there were a president exactly like Trump, but a woman?”

-Mark Rylance is an actual god.

-Why Leo diCaprio is such a great actor: you can burden his character with every buzzkill from poor dress sense to ED to social unpredictability and then say his character becomes an overnight media sex symbol and he’s just like, sure, I got this. And it’s plausible.

-Timothee Chalomet’s little prayer at the dinner table made me cry.
